Last week we launched Song of the Stag by R. M. Brown at the Tinsmith in Dundee on June 27th – and what a book launch it was! Thank you so much to everyone who attended.

70 people came along to launch Song of the Stag with us in Dundee last week!

We loved hearing readings from Song of the Stag author Rebecca, and her friends, before we received a fantastic speech from Drew Campbell, former President of Scottish PEN. Campbell celebrated Rebecca as the newest voice in Scottish literature, following in the trailblazing footsteps of the likes of Hugh MacDiarmid and Naomi Mitchison. Thank you Drew for joining us to launch Rebecca’s debut novel!

Song of the Stag features a fantasy reimagining of the Scottish fight for independence, complete with Scots (‘Old Storrian’) and Gaelic (‘Leid’).

Thanks to everyone who participated in an insightful Q&A session, where we covered topics such as Rebecca’s inspiration, from her proudly Dundonian background, to her playlists filled with cinematic remixes and Taylor Swift songs to daydream to. We even heard some whispers of a Song of the Stag sequel! If you didn’t catch the livestream, you can still watch it here.

For those lucky enough to have already read Song of the Stag, it was no surprise we sold out of all books available on the night and had queues round the bar waiting to get their copies signed! We sold 55 books in total at the launch – thanks to everyone who purchased a copy! If you still need to grab a copy, grab it here for £12.99 (plus P&P).

Rebecca stands with friends, family, and the wonderful Ringwood team who contributed to the book launch.

Thank you to the Tinsmith for providing the perfect, patriotic venue to launch Song of the Stag, and thanks to our wonderful team at Ringwood for helping with another great book launch. Congratulations on a wonderful launch Rebecca – we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
