The Gallery of Modern Art
With so much to do in the spirited, cultural city of Glasgow, Ringwood wants to keep suggesting sights to see! Situated in Royal Exchange Square – just off George Square – the beautiful GoMA is in an ideal central location, meaning there’s plenty going on all around you if you want to fill your day with a variety of activities. For example, the surrounding square provides plentiful options to replenish with food and drink, and the high street is just a couple of minutes away if you fancy some shopping.
The Museum itself has something for everyone, with four galleries in total. It also contains a café, gift shop, and – best of all – a library! It’s open 7 days a week, from 10-5 apart from Fridays and Sundays when it opens an hour later. Entry is free, so you won’t have to break the bank to indulge in this ambient experience. If it’s a nice day and you don’t want to spend it all indoors, take a picnic to the nearby George Square and enjoy some peace amongst the hustle and bustle – maybe rest beside the statue of Walter Scott, one of Scotland’s best known writers!
We recommend that you bring a book so that once you’ve fully explored Glasgow’s main gallery of contemporary art, you can kick back with some tea and a tasty treat, enjoying the most relaxing activity of all: turning pages!
