From the pen of a passionate Glasgow sociologist and writer comes Ringwood’s latest
novel, Those Tyrannizing Landlords by Seán Damer. The book will be landing on bookshops
in April but is available for pre-order here

With over 40 years of research into Glasgow’s social history, latterly as a Senior Research
Fellow at the University of Glasgow, Seán Damer has long been fascinated by the Irish
connection in Glasgow’s vibrant history. Seán’s novel follows Peggy, the only daughter of
the O’Donnells, a family of Irish Catholic immigrants who arrive in Glasgow in 1912, and
Peggy’s explosive personal, political and sexual development.

In Those Tyrannizing Landlords, Seán brings his extensive research experience and his own
family history to weave themes of religion, feminism and socialism in an enthralling
exploration of Glasgow’s rich history and one young woman’s personal journey.

The official LAUNCH  of Sean’s modern classic,  is now definitely set for Wednesday 13th April in the Oran Mor, Byres Road, Glasgow from 6.30pm . Further details will appear on the Ringwood website soon but please put the date in your diary now, for what will prove to be a fascinating evening of talk, discussion and stimulating argument.
