Did you make a New Year’s Resolution to write more? To finally fill out all those empty notebooks? To develop your draft into something that you can submit to publishers? Well, you’re in luck! We are delighted to announce that Ringwood’s first event of the year will be a Writing Seminar centred around how to write stuff that actually has a chance of getting published. Whether you write fiction, poetry, non-fiction or screenplays, now is your chance at getting some help and inspiration to make 2024 the year it all happens

Last year we ran a series of events on how to get published, and we thought the only logical step was to follow up with an event on how to actually get to the stage where you’re hoping to get published.

This writing seminar will be the first in a series of similar events, and will take place this month on the 28th of January at 2pm in Hillhead Library. With us, we will have some  wonderful guest speakers, with contributions from two experienced authors, Maureen Cullen (Kitten Heels) and Rob McInroy (Bob Kelty Series), and two soon-to-be-published writers, Rebecca Brown (Song of the Stag) and Kirsten MacQuarrie (The Rowan Tree). They will share all their best advice on how to write stuff that publishers will want to pick up.

Following the success of the Short Story Seminar, we will spend the second half of the event doing some writing exercises, so you can all put all that inspiration to use straight away!

Everyone is welcome regardless of experience!
