We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended our event on Sunday, in celebration and remembrance of late author Leela Soma, and to everyone who has watched the event recording since.

Matilda Eker and Isobel Freeman
Anne Petigrew, Anjana Sen, and Mridula Sharma

After intern and event chair Matilda Eker opened with a tribute to Leela, our wonderful panel, consisting of Mridula Sharma (previous Ringwood Intern), Isobel Freeman (Ringwood Chief Editor), Anne Pettigrew (Ringwood Author), and Anjana Sen (poet and Secretary of the Scottish Association of Writers), shared some moving stories about what a kind, motivated, and inspiring person Leela was, and about the immense legacy that she has left behind.

The panel discussed crime writing, Tartan Noir, and spoke about Leela’s novel Murder at the Mela. Before and after the discussion, Anjana read out some wonderful excerpts from the novel.
