Ringwood is pleased to announce that Carol Margaret Davison’s debut novel, Bodysnatcher, is now available for pre-publication order.

Bodysnatcher tells the story of one of the most famous crimes to take place in Edinburgh, the Burke and Hare murders. Told through the dual perspectives of Helen McDougal and Burke, it reveals the victims of Burke and Hare, along with the stories of their love interests, Nelly McDougal and Margaret Hare.

Bodysnatcher will appeal to a wide variety of fan bases: from historical fiction and Gothic fiction to true crime. With its complex narrative and powerful portrayal of desperation, poverty, and the disempowerment of women, it will leave readers with much to think about long after they have finished reading the book.

Carol Margaret Davison is a professor of English Literature and Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Windsor in Canada. For more information on Carol, visit her author page here.
